The construction company behind the new Whole Foods grocery store on Post Oak Boulevard is opening a new office in Houston.
White Construction Co. — based in Austin, Texas, and Ridgeland, Mississippi — assigned Jim Snyder to oversee the firm's new Houston office. Snyder, who has a degree in construction science from Texas A&M University, is a vice president with the company.
Founded in 1971, White Construction has worked on building headquarters and campuses for major corporations like Round Rock, Texas-based Dell Inc. and Austin-based Whole Foods Market Inc. as well as municipal buildings, correctional facilities, medical centers, luxury homes, residential towers, churches and retail shops.
In addition, White Construction has worked on interior renovations and historic restorations, including restoring the Texas Governor's Mansion, which was severely damaged by arson in 2008.
Most recently, White Construction finished working on the new Whole Foods grocery store at Blvd Place in the Galleria area, which has Houston's first in-store brewpub.
